According to this morning’s Chicago Tribune:
Four males - 17, 30, and 34 and a man in his 20s - were killed and at least 5 others wounded in a three-hour stretch Friday night in shootings on the city’s South Side. At least 12 people survived shootings between 4:15 p.m. Friday and early Saturday morning.
4 dead, another 12 shot. Just another Friday night on the streets. While violent crime is on the decline in much of the country, in disadvantegd neighborhoods in Chicago, its an altogether different story.
Local news in the city, and out of the national spotlight. Of course, for the millions of tourists or business people who come to the city, they would largely have no idea of the carnage. As it isn’t taking place in the Loop or the Near North.
